        Engage Them!!!
Currently the MEDC utilizes
several platforms of social
media networks. After some
research of how each of these
are used there is not much
engaging but each provides
lots of content. This campaign
will focus on enhancing the
use of those social media
platforms and getting business
to become more engaged and
participate in the conversation.

Send update to fans when something new is posted
Encourage Fans to leave comments
Monitor those comments (Engage in conversation)
Create an Ad for Facebook Fan Page to attract more Fans
Link Blog to Fan Page
Follow other Michigan
Businesses the MEDC
has helped
Ask those they follow to
return the favor
Highlight some of the
businesses they follow by
RT
Host monthly Twitter
Chats geared toward
doing business in
Michigan and other
economic issues
The Upper Hand Blog
            Invite other MI
            businesses leaders to
            be guest bloggers for
            the month
            Make comments
            public and encourage
            others to leave a
            comments
           Respond to the
            comments
Public Relations
• Talk exclusively with current business
  owners of the next great companies in
  Michigan, new startups, and expanding
  companies
• Integrate stories through social media
  platforms like twitter, facebook and
  youtube
• Monitor and respond to comments on
  social media
Engage Future Business Owners
       with Google AdWords
• To promote growth a Google
  Adwords campaign would be
  great.
• The focus area should be the
  primary growth areas of
  business in MI such as
  alternative energy, life
  sciences, water technology
• When others search for any of
  these key terms and starting a
  business in these areas an ad
  can pop up leading them to the
  website

•   Facebook and Twitter 25%
•   Google Ad words 30%
•   Blog 20%
•   You Tube 10%
Monitoring the Campaign
• David Meerman Scott explained the
  importance of Monitoring in New Rules. In
  this campaign several things should be
  monitored
• Comments on each social media platform
• Use monitter or social mention to track
  tweets
• Use Google Analytics to track Adwords
• Track comments and views on blog site
